VIDDY DIY Camera Kit
[$62.79] / [£39.99]
I often take pictures of strangers on the bus. I also take photographs of other people at urinals. Look, I’m a pervert, that’s fine. But when taking photographs of someone’s sideboob with your phone, SLR or full on camera team, the element of secrecy is often amiss. The Viddy do-it-yourself pinhole camera kit isn’t sold as a solution to this, but it’s what I’d use it for. Made from tough and durable recycled card, it accepts medium format and 35mm film and can be built in half an hour; or longer if you have only one hand free. Available in green, black, blue and red, you use stickers and split pins to build the main cardboard body, and just a dab of glue to construct the film advance knobs. Ha, I said knobs. Polaroid cameras are too hip even for hipsters now, so why not pre-order one of these cardboard dealies now their kickstarter has ended. Nothing screams “I never shower” than a camera made from cardboard.
